Kursens syfte är att förmedla en psykologisk förståelse för hur människors känslomässiga band till olika platser utvecklas genom livet med särskilt fokus på boende och bostadsområden.
Efter genomgången kurs skall studenten kunna:
beskriva vad som är karaktäristiskt för platsrelaterade aktiviteter som äger rum i grön miljö och de psykologiska principer som reglerar detta agerande
ange generella förändringar i formerna för samspel mellan människa och miljö under livsloppet
analysera hur människor utvecklar känslomässiga band till specifika platser
samt att kunna förstå boendemiljöns betydelse för identitet
- diskutera vilken betydelse människors relation till platser kan ha vid förändring av miljöer och planeringsprocesser.
Innehåll
Kursen kombinerar teoretiska studier i aktuellt ämne med workshops och uppgifter för att undersöka följande teman: Hur människor använder utomhusmiljön och vilka funktioner den har i deras vardagsliv. I fokus står miljöer för enskildhet och vila, liksom rörelse och skapande; i trädgårdar, på bostadsgårdar, parker och torg. Viktiga begrepp är "kreativitet", "självreglering" och "personligt utrymme". Hur platser får mening. Vi uppmärksammar hur åtkomsten av favoritplatser i barndomen kan betraktas som en förelöpare till hemkänsla. Viktiga begrepp är "plats anknytning", "plats identitet" och "social sammanhållning". Vilken betydelse människors relationer till plats får vid förändringar som flytt, ombyggnation och naturkatastrof.
Specifikationer för inlämningsuppgifter ges vid kursstart. Ett visst antal seminarier samt workshops och presentationer är obligatoriska.
I kursen kombineras självständigt arbete på distans med obligatoriska onlineträffar.

Deltagande i ett urval av workshops/seminarier och framgångsrikt slutförande av uppgifter. Godkänd tentamen.
- Examinatorn har, om det finns skäl och är möjligt, rätt att ge en kompletteringsuppgift till den student som inte blivit godkänd på en examination.
- Om studenten har ett beslut från SLU om riktat pedagogiskt stöd på grund av funktionsnedsättning, kan examinatorn ge ett anpassat prov eller låta studenten genomföra provet på ett alternativt sätt.
- Om denna kursplan läggs ned, ska SLU besluta om övergångsbestämmelser för examination av studenter, som antagits enligt denna kursplan och ännu inte blivit godkända.
- För examination av självständigt arbete (examensarbete) gäller dessutom att examinatorn kan tillåta studenten att göra kompletteringar efter inlämningsdatum. Mer information finns i utbildningshandboken.
