Hästen i sport, arbete och fritid

Undervisningen sker i form av föreläsningar, övningar, gruppdiskussioner och projektarbeten. I kursen kan hantering av organ och levande djur ingå. Kursen ger en introduktion till användning av och företagande med häst och behandlar områden som hästars inlärning, träningsfysiologi, biomekanik, djurskydd, inhysning, avel och utfodring för hästar i sport, arbete och fritid. Genom hela kursen är hållbarhet, hälsa och välfärd nyckelord.


Obligatoriska moment förekommer inom vissa övningar.


Inom kursen tränar studenten följande generella kompetenser: vetenskapligt förhållningssätt, vetenskaplig skrivande, muntlig redovisning.

Welcome to ”The use of the horse”!

The course starts September 30 at 9.00 online via zoom. Accepted students will get the link in a separate e-mail a few weeks before the start. Due to the current Covid-19 situation, lectures will mainly be given online while exercises and discussions which requires a higher degree of interaction will be given at campus Ultuna. At this course page you find a list of course literature, a preliminary schedule and grading criteria. Note that there are compulsory activities in the schedule the first days. During the course we will use a “virtual course room” in Canvas. We are looking forward to an interesting course together with you!
