Hållbar skogsskötsel och markanvändning i tropikerna

Det här är kursen för dig som vill förbereda dig för uppgifter och utmaningar för arbete mot ett hållbart skogsbruk i subtropiska och tropiska regioner. I kursen går ni igenom centrala begrepp inom ekologi och skogsskötsel i tropiska och subtropiska skogar och lär er att utvärdera uthålligt skogsbruk utifrån sociala, ekonomiska och biofysiska förutsättningar. Ett viktigt område är även agroforestrysystem som utgör en stor resurs för människors tillgång till bränsle och virke i stora delar av världen. Möjligheter och problem med plantageskogsbruk med olika arter tas upp samt möjligheter till brukande av naturskogar. I kursen ingår även att jämföra olika ansatser för restaurering av skogar i tropiska och subtropiska områden. Många exempel kommer från de forskningsprojekt som deltagande lärare är bedriver i olika delar av världen, Borneo, Kenya, Tanzania, Burkina Faso, Indien, mm.


Kursen ges som campusoberoende kurs vilket innebär att du kan läsa kursen vid SLU:s campus i Alnarp, Uppsala och Umeå.

For Nov 2021-Jan 2022: This will be a full distance course (all on zoom), so you can attend from wherever you please. There will not be a field trip this year due to recommendations against international travel.
