Information for students from Pakistan

Last changed: 03 May 2023

Because of the ongoing situation in Islamabad, the Swedish embassy will not be able to receive any applicants for residence permits in time for the autumn 2023 semester. This includes interviews, biometrics, passport control, handing out permit cards or answering emails regarding residence permits.

The Swedish Migration Agency is currently looking into possible alternatives for students from Pakistan, and any updates will be made available on swedenabroad.se and migrationsverket.se

While we cannot make any assertions, we do not recommend students from Pakistan to apply for a residence permit at this time. This is unfortunate, and we hope the situation will improve soon.
