Study support is intended to compensate for barriers related to disabilities and to create equal conditions for students. The same learning objectives apply to all students. The support is meant to strengthen the student’s own abilities—it does not replace personal responsibility.

Student’s responsibility

  • You are responsible for your studies and your study situation.
  • It is your responsibility to actively acquire knowledge and demonstrate what you have learned in order to meet the course objectives.
  • Make sure to apply for support in good time so that it is available when you assess that you need it.
  • You are responsible for informing about any need for adjustments in course components and examinations.

Requesting adjustments

  • At the start of the course, contact the course leader, present your Nais certificate, and discuss the kinds of adjustments that may be needed in different course components. The course leader or examiner determines which recommended adjustments are feasible within the framework of the course syllabus and requirements. Your coordinator can assist you if needed for this dialogue.
  • Requests for adjusted examinations must be communicated/submitted in good time. Find out what applies to the various examinations in the courses you are taking. If a certain approved adjustment cannot be implemented, for example due to a lack of facilities, an equivalent solution will be offered as far as possible.
  • If you are unable to attend an adjusted examination for which you have registered, you should inform about this as soon as possible.
