The speech synthesis program TorTalk, since earlier accessible for all SLU students and employees as a desktop application, is now available in app version for Android and iOS. TorTalk supports both Swedish and English, as well as a number of other languages.
TorTalk is a program that reads out highlighted text on the screen. It can be used for example to read course literature and web pages, but is also a great tool for revising your own texts – it’s often easier to spot missing words and mistakes in sentence structure when you listen! TorTalk supports both Swedish and English, as well as a number of other languages.
SLU has now acquired campus licenses for the app version of the program, available for both Android and iOS. The app version is, just like the desktop application, free to use for all SLU students and employees. You find Tortalk, as well as other support programs, along with instructions for how to use the program on the SLU software sharepoint.
For more information about TorTalk or help download and use the the program, contact the SLU University Library.
