Anna Lundhagen, newly appointed pro-vice-chancellor, will be responsible for a portfolio combining external collaboration and environmental monitoring and assessment. Anna has a solid background with over 17 years of experience as a researcher and from managerial posts at two of the four SLU faculties.
SLU enjoys a strong national and global position in environmental assessment and broad collaboration with society. Anna Lundhagen’s ambition is to lead, animate and strengthen our position as a source of knowledge relevant to society and an attractive collaboration partner.
”I want to continue doing what I enjoy most, leading an expert-oriented organisation towards excellence where the vision is sustainable management of our natural resources, wild ones and those managed by humans. I believe SLU deserves a much more prominent role than we have today, given the urgent challenges facing society”, says Anna.
”I’m very happy to welcome Anna to the management group and look forward to working with her to continue enhancing our collaboration and EMA activities”, says Maria Knutson Wedel, SLU’s vice-chancellor.
During her time as head of department, Anna has contributed to setting up a strong centre for ecology, well recognised in Europe and with several world-leading research groups. Anna and the Ecology Centre also have well-established and strong relations with many public authorities and they play an important role in issues related to conservation and production.
Anna Lundhagen is a docent in conservation biology. For the last seven years, she has been head of department and she will leave her post as head of the Department of Ecology to take up her new position as pro-vice-chancellor after the summer.
