New procedure for reporting IT incidents

Published: 04 December 2023

There is a new procedure in place for reporting IT incidents at SLU. The procedure has been drawn up by the Security Unit in cooperation with the Division of IT and the Legal Affairs Unit.

All students and staff at SLU are expected to immediately report any IT incidents. This is done as follows:

  • Report an IT incident to support@slu.se. Incidents are often urgent and include, but are not limited to, attacks with malicious code, information leakage or unplanned disruption to IT services at SLU.
  • If the incident involves personal data, you must submit a supplementary personal data breach report in the IA system. A personal data breach can be sending personal data to the wrong recipient, or if a computer containing personal data is lost or stolen.
  • If you discover technical or administrative non-conformities that may affect information management at SLU, this must also be reported in the IA system. This could be shortcomings in procedures for handling protected information, unauthorised disclosure of data or insufficient physical security measures intended to protect information. Such non-conformities are often less severe than incidents.

The new procedure is available in Swedish in Public 360 (SLU.ua.2023.2.10-4045-1 Rutin för rapportering av it-incidenter).

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact the Security Unit (sakerhet@slu.se).
