Curious about what it is like to be a student at one of the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences' master's programs with a focus on forests, wildlife and fish? On social media, masters students at SLU's Faculty of Forest Sciences share their thoughts and experiences of both student life and everyday life in a city – and country – that is often completely new to them!
One of the master's students who has been involved in starting up the accounts - and since then has been one of its professional team leaders is Amber Mertens De Vry. We took the opportunity to ask her some questions.
My name is Amber, I'm a Belgian student and I came to SLU in Umeå to study the program of Management of Fish and Wildlife Populations. Currently, I am one of the team leaders of the Masters of Nature social media accounts.
The accounts are on both Facebook and Instagram. They are meant to promote the master's programs that are given here, and to show the students more about what they can expect when they come and study here.
I generally post information about the courses we've been having, the lectures we had, and also what I what there is to do in an around Umeå.
I think it's very interesting to be a student here. I think the university and the courses that are given here are very applied. I would also say it's a very nice environment to study in.
Thanks, Amber!
