New system for booking group activity rooms

Published: 09 December 2019

At SLU, we are currently replacing our booking system for teaching premises and group activity rooms. The one we have been using, KronoX, will be replaced by TimeEdit.

KronoX will remain in use until 1 January 2020. As of 2 January 2020, we will instead be using TimeEdit.

The following applies to Alnarp, Umeå and Uppsala:

  • Bookings up to and including 1 January 2020 are made in KronoX.
  • Bookings as of 2 January 2020 are made in TimeEdit.

Please note that until the end of December, all information on the student web (https://student.slu.se/en/study-support/rooms/) will be changing to cover TimeEdit rather than KronoX. There will also be instructions on how to book group activity rooms in TimeEdit.

In connection with this change, we will also be modifying the booking rules. One change is that it will only be possible to book group activity rooms in chunks of one hour, e.g. 8.00–9.00.

There is no app for TimeEdit. Instead, all bookings are made through the booking system web interface.

The new system will be implemented in several steps. Moving all bookings from KronoX is the first step. Once the implementation is completed, one of the main objectives of the TimeEdit project will be realised, which is that all students should have access to a complete and digital TimeEdit schedule.

You can subscribe to the TimeEdit schedule, which means you can link it to your calendar (e.g. in Outlook or Google) and display it on your phone. Subscribing automatically updates your calendar with any changes to the TimeEdit schedule.

TimeEdit can potentially be used for booking group activity rooms at all SLU campuses, but will initially be available in Alnarp, Umeå and Uppsala. If you’re a student at a campus other than these three, you’re welcome to contact Sluss or your local students’ union if you have any suggestions or comments.
