Soon time for the Ultuna Winter Classic 2017

Published: 06 February 2017

The yearly showdown between students and faculty members is drawing near: the Ultuna Winter Classic! If you want to take part it's time to register!

It is that time again – Ultuna Winter Classic! In a spectacular showdown between students and faculty at SLU, played in one decisive rinkball game, the eternal question will be answered: Which team will win the cup 2017? Will the students skate away to yet another victory? Will the faculty have any chance what so ever? Or, more appropriately, which team will be the fourth to be engraved on the Ultuna Winter Classic Cup?

The game will be played over 2 x 20 minutes on Wednesday, 22 February with festivities starting already at 1300 hours (that is 1 p.m.), with the game starting after warm-up. The teams are limited to 12 players, fielding four players and a pullable goalie on the ice.

Do you want to be in?

Can you skate and would you like to participate? Great! First figure out which team you belong to (see below), then contact your team representative as soon as possible. Participation fee: 50 SEK. (NB! If the ice on Syltarinken is deemed too dangerous, the showdown will be moved to “the other ice” in town.) See you!

It's also called rink bandy. See the Wikipedia description here.
