MFS application rounds are cancelled

Published: 08 June 2022

The Swedish council for Higher Education (UHR) announces that the autumn application round for MFS scholarships will be cancelled. This means that SLU and other higher education institutions in Sweden can not announce MFS scholarships to students from the autumn of 2022. The decision also affects other programmes such as Linnaeus-Palme.

The Minor Field Study scholarship programme is a SIDA-funded program. The reason for the suspension of the program is due to the government's reduction of the aid budget this year linked to the reception of refugees in Ukraine. SIDA is reviewing future opportunities for the MFS programme.

The current programme period for MFS continues until final reporting in the summer of 2023. Already granted MFS scholarship students who will travel on their field studies during the autumn semester 2022 and the spring semester 2023 will be able to travel as planned.
