On 21 May, SLU student Sadiq Zafrullah received the Global Swede diploma at a ceremony. The diploma was awarded by Minister for Foreign Trade Ann Linde at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Stockholm.
Sadiq Zafrullah comes from Bangladesh and is currently studying rural development and natural resource management at SLU. He has worked with the International Labour Organisation in Thailand and represented SLU at Agrinatura general assemblies. His enthusiasm for sustainability has enabled him to arrange several events relating to the environment and the Sustainable Development Goals.
During the ceremony, 26 students received a Global Swede diploma. The ceremony was arranged, for the ninth year in a row, by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the Swedish Institute. Each student has excelled in fields connected to innovation and entrepreneurship.
"Global Swede is a way of saying thank you to some of our most innovative, international students. They play a big part in our international relations, and I hope that the award encourages continued exchange and relations with Sweden," said Ann Linde.
