Nominate candidates for SLU’s 40th anniversary innovation competition

Published: 28 May 2017

40 years of important research need to be recognised. We are now launching a competition to highlight the most successful innovations originating from SLU.

Three innovations that have been implemented in society will be chosen, and the winners presented at the 40th anniversary celebrations this autumn.

Win cinema tickets

All SLU staff can nominate candidates and enter the draw for 10 cinema vouchers covering tickets, popcorn and drinks for two.

Nominations close on 25 August.

Competition criteria

The prizes for best innovation during SLU’s 40 years will be awarded to the person(s) who through innovation and creativity have developed products and/or services with a significant impact on society.

The innovations must originate from research done at SLU and be commercially available.

The level of innovation and the societal benefits will be the main assessment criteria when choosing the winners.

Selection process

  1. SLU Holding does a first assessment of the nominated candidates.
  2. A jury consisting of Pro Vice-Chancellor Erik Fahlbeck and senior representatives from each faculty will choose the winners.
  3. The jury’s decision cannot be appealed.

Award ceremony

The originators of the three winning proposals will be awarded a diploma from the vice-chancellor as part of the doctoral award ceremony. One representative for each winning proposal, with one guest each, will be invited to the doctoral award ceremony and banquet in Uppsala on 7 October.
