In this webinar Øystein Evensen will present the education program currently running at the Veterinary Faculty at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, and some of the research programs at the Faculty. The presentation will demonstrate how research and teaching were built to meet industry needs, and the contribution of public and private financing in this regard.

Interaction between academia and industry has been crucial. This includes the fish farmers and the support industry built around the Norwegian salmon industry that covers the entire value chain.

The presentation will also include snapshots and brief examples of applied and basic research, and how this has contributed to improved disease control, better diagnostic methods and generated new knowledge.

Target group: researchers, teachers and students at SLU.
