The Uppsala Sustainable Mobility Hackathon

The Sustainable Mobility Hackathon in Uppsala is an event organised by Sustainability InnoCenter in collaboration with a number of partner organisations. The event is an exercise in collaborative, multi-disciplinary problem solving, aimed at providing sustainable solutions to a number of on-the-ground mobility-related challenges.

The Hackathon is a hybrid event, set to take place on location at Green Innovation Park in Uppsala on the 11-12 May with the option of attending online. The event will be organised around a number of mobility challenges, provided by, among others, Uppsala and Gävle municipalities. Participants will divide into teams and work to provide a solution to the challenge that they find most interesting, with prizes available for the best, most creative solutions!

We are now seeking dedicated and knowledgeable people to join us in resolving these mobility challenges! We are looking for a diverse group of participants – the more knowledge and the more perspectives available the better the solutions are likely to be after all. A background in anything from social sciences or sustainability studies to computer programming, marketing or city planning, it doesn’t really matter what your field of speciality is, so long as you can find a way to apply your knowledge to the challenge of your choice. In the same vein, we are also welcoming people of different levels of experience. Students, experienced researchers or professionals outside of academia – what matters is that you have a creative mind and a desire to help make society better! As such, this is also a great opportunity to make connections and have fun with a lot of new and interesting people.

You can join as part of an already established team, with a particular challenge in mind, or you can join by yourself, and find your team from among the other participants before the start of the main event.
