SwedishPrior knowledge
Knowledge equivalent to 30 credits in technologyObjectives
The course intends to deepen the skills to project, build and manage outdoor environments. In the course the different components that are normally included in a projecting-, build- and administrative process, such as design, dialogue with client, calculation, production of design documents, procurement, quality- and environmental management and planning of ground constructions and maintenance is exercised in different case studies.
On completion of the course, the student should be able to:
independently carry out a shape- and projecting assignment in CAD-environment.
design plant beds for a landscape construction project with natural habitats as a starting point.
with computer support calculate costs for landscape construction projects and maintenance.
with computer support establish time planning for landscape construction projects and maintenance.
apply basic construction law connected to the professional role of the landscape engineer.
account for the basics within quality- and environmental management.
communicate with the different parties of a landscape construction project. Including to present the results of a shape- and projecting assignment orally.
Content
Lectures and short case studies initially provide knowledge of and skills in calculation, planning and operation of landscape construction- and management with computer support. Here are also quality- and environmental management and basic construction law treated. In a larger case study, these proficiencies are exercised further, in addition to skills in shape and projecting. In the case study, an outdoor environment which is later on projected in CAD is designed. In this work, functional, aesthetic and economic aspects should be taken into account. In the work, earlier won knowledge of natural biotopes and their soil conditions should also be implemented and processed by plant beds for urban environments projecting. The case study is communicated with a fictitious client
Grading form
The grade requirements within the course grading system are set out in specific criteria. These criteria must be available by the course start at the latest.Formats and requirements for examination
The examination consists of presentations of group assignments and individual assignments. To pass the course, passed presentations of group assignments and individual assignments are required.
• If the student has not passed on a test, examiner has the right to give a supplementary assignment – if there is cause for it and if it is possible.
• If the student has a decision from SLU about particularly educational support due to physical disability has examiner right to give an adapted test or let the student carry out the test in an alternative way.
• If this course syllabus is changed or if the course is closed down should SLU determine about transition rules for examination of students who have been admitted according to this course syllabus and still not have become passed
If a student has failed an examination, the examiner has the right to issue supplementary assignments. This applies if it is possible and there are grounds to do so.
The examiner can provide an adapted assessment to students entitled to study support for students with disabilities following a decision by the university. Examiners may also issue an adapted examination or provide an alternative way for the students to take the exam.
If this syllabus is withdrawn, SLU may introduce transitional provisions for examining students admitted based on this syllabus and who have not yet passed the course.
For the assessment of an independent project (degree project), the examiner may also allow a student to add supplemental information after the deadline for submission. Read more in the Education Planning and Administration Handbook.
Other information
The right to participate in teaching and/or supervision only applies for the course instance the student was admitted to and registered on.
If there are special reasons, students are entitled to participate in components with compulsory attendance when the course is given again. Read more in the Education Planning and Administration Handbook.
Additional information
The course is compulsory in the Landscape engineer programme for admitted from 1 July 2015. It is based on two former courses FÖ0407 and TN0243.Responsible department
