Socially sustainable leadership

Kul att du vill utveckla ditt ledarskap.

  • Planera för att kursen tar ca 40 timmar av din tid i veckan. Egen inläsning, obligatoriska inlämningsuppgifter och fallstudie i grupp kommer att kräva ditt fokus och din tid.
  • Det kan förekomma icke obligatoriska hemuppgifter mellan lektionerna.
  • Du kommer att examineras på inlämningsuppgifter som är spridda över kursen, på en rapport över en fallstudie i grupp samt på en hemtentamen.
  • Inga lektioner kommer att vara obligatoriska, men vill du få ut maximalt av kursen bör du vara med. Några av inlämningsuppgifterna kommer att vara lättare att göra om du är med på lektionerna.
  • Pedagogiken bygger på att du läser litteraturen i kurstempot och gör inlämningsuppgifterna i tid. Lektionerna används till att träna ledarskap, öva samarbete, föra diskussioner och tillföra ytterligare kunskap utöver det som finns i litteraturen. Kursböcker och lektioner kompletterar alltså varandra, så du behöver skaffa kurslitteraturen till kursstart.
  • Kursen kräver din aktiva medverkan, så skulle vi hamna i ett läge där vi genomför hela eller delar på distans kommer jag att kräva att du har kameran på.
  • Du kommer att ha kul, lära dig mycket och bli förberedd för en framtida lärarroll.

Objectives

The course provides basic knowledge in a socially sustainable leadership. This prepares the student for a future leadership role.
After completing the course, the student should be able to:
- describe and explain how socially sustainable leadership can be applied
- describe and explain how a company or organization can be organized to meet the requirements of social sustainability
- describe and explain how, through leadership and organization, one can influence behaviours to achieve socially sustainable goals

Content

The course is based on lectures, exercises, seminars, own work and reading literature.
Mandatory elements in the form of guest lectures, project work, seminars and study visits may occur.
The teaching can be carried out on campus and / or online.
The course includes
- the basics of leadership
- organizational theory
- to influence behaviors through leadership and organization
- social sustainability, definition and application

Formats and requirements for examination

Approved written and/or oral exams and presentations of projects and assignments as well as active participation in mandatory parts.
  • If the student fails a test, the examiner may give the student a supplementary assignment, provided this is possible and there is reason to do so.
  • If the student has been granted special educational support because of a disability, the examiner has the right to offer the student an adapted test, or provide an alternative assessment.
  • If changes are made to this course syllabus, or if the course is closed, SLU shall decide on transitional rules for examination of students admitted under this syllabus but who have not yet passed the course.
  • For the examination of a degree project (independent project), the examiner may also allow the student to add supplemental information after the deadline. For more information on this, please refer to the regulations for education at Bachelor's and Master's level.
