Anesthesiology and perioperative hygiene in veterinary nursing

By means of lectures, problem-based teaching and compulsory seminars, teaching is given in anaesthesia and analgesia, including pharmacology, clinical physiology and applicable legislation, perioperative nursing and hygiene, as well as the formulation of nursing hygiene plans that take into account sustainability aspects. The ethics involved in euthanasia are taught in a compulsory seminar. By means of demonstrations and practical exercises, students study and practise the following: handling technical medical equipment, preparation and function control of anaesthesia and monitoring equipment, intubation, manual ventilation, performing perioperative hygiene procedures and hygiene procedures for isolated patients. The course includes teaching on organs, dummies and live animals.
