Plant protection and microbiology

The course develops further your knowledge in plant protection. You will learn about planning of plant protection against different pests and diseases from preventive to combating measures. You will also train detection and interpretation of symptoms in different types of plants in horticulture. You will have possibility to try some diagnostics tests and analysis methods in microbiology. You will gain deeper understanding of the importance of microorganisms as pathogens, and even more importantly, as beneficial organisms. You will get to know different actors in plant protection in Sweden, related to advisory work. Examination consists of practicals, seminars and written reports. The main target group is programme students in horticultural management, but the course is also freestanding. The course is given in Swedish.
