Become a Student Ambassador for SLU

Are you studying a Bachelor’s or Master’s programme at SLU? Do you enjoy student life and want to inspire others? Are you confident using social media and engaging with people online? If so, apply to become a Student Ambassador for SLU!

We are looking for students from across the world and from all of SLU’s international study programmes. There are two different roles, depending on your interests and skills:


Option 1: Digital Student Ambassador (Instagram + chat)

Get creative and build community online! As a Digital Student Ambassador, you will:

  • Share your student life through Instagram (@studyatslu) – posts, stories, reels.
  • Chat with prospective students on Unibuddy.
  • Support applicants and help them feel welcome at SLU.
  • Represent SLU’s diverse and vibrant student voice.

Time commitment: ~2 hours/week
Pay: 130 SEK/hour

Requirements:

  • Share content on Instagram at least once a week.
  • Chat with prospective students, answer their questions, and reply to messages within 24 hours on weekdays.
  • Attend a training session in Uppsala (travel between campuses and accommodation will be covered if needed), along with two additional in-person meetings during the 2025/2026 academic year.
  • Stay in touch with your ambassador team and supervisor.


Option 2: Unibuddy Ambassador (blogs + chat)


Prefer writing and one-on-one conversations? This role’s for you! As a Unibuddy Ambassador, you will:

  • Chat with prospective students, answer their questions, and reply to messages within 24 hours on weekdays.
  • Share your experiences through blog posts and/or videos. You can also collaborate with the Instagram team on content ideas.
  • Attend a training session in Uppsala (travel between campuses and accommodation will be covered if needed), along with two additional in-person meetings during the 2025/2026. academic year.
  • Stay in touch with your ambassador team and supervisor.

Time commitment: 1–2 hours/week
Pay: 130 SEK/hour

Requirements:

  • Respond to messages within 24 hours on weekdays.
  • Keep conversations friendly, active, and helpful.
  • Occasionally share photos, blog posts, or videos about student life.

 

What makes a great Ambassador?

  • Friendly and engaging communicator.
  • Positive and enthusiastic about SLU.
  • Reliable and quick to respond.
  • Respectful and professional in all interactions.
  • For Digital Ambassadors: You enjoy creating content and being in front of the camera.
  • For Unibuddy Ambassadors: You’re a strong writer who can describe student life clearly and creatively.

How to apply


Send an email to study@slu.se with:

  • Your name, email, study programme, and home country.
  • A short letter or a video (link) introducing yourself and why you want to join.
  • Clearly state whether you’re applying for:
    - Digital Student Ambassador (Instagram + Unibuddy), or
    - Unibuddy Ambassador (chat + blogs only)
  • If applying for the Digital role: Share 3 Instagram accounts that inspire you.
  • (Optional) Include social media experience or a sample of your work.

Deadline: 12 May 2025.


Timeline


Your role will begin in late August 2025 and continue until August 2026. If selected, you will receive further information from SLU along with training from Unibuddy.
