The ADVALUE Erasmus+ project team from Uganda Christian University, Makerere University, Pwani University, and the University of Nairobi visited SLU on October 3rd.

The team visited SLU as part of their meetings to develop the syllabus content for a first module for PhD students.

During their visit to the Department of Energy and Technology, Abozar Nasirahmadi, head of the Digitalization section, presented the potential of digitalization and artificial intelligence in supporting sustainability in African agriculture. The visit opens the dialog to define future collaborations in the form of workshops and training for PhD students within the ADVALUE project.

The Project "Advancing Sustainable Agricultural Value Chains through Strengthening Transdisciplinary Skills and Cooperation in East African Doctoral Education" (ADVALUE), of which SLU is a partner, addresses the need for qualified doctorates and future academic professionals in agricultural sciences who impact the research and teaching capacities of their Higher Education Institutions and contribute to local and regional achievement of SDG goals with the development of sustainable agricultural value chains.
