Nitrogen, climate change and food: showing the connections (16 October at 5pm BST, 6pm Stockholm time)
Nitrogen is essential to life - it is a building block of amino acids and therefore proteins, and it’s essential for soils and for growing food. But at the same time, nitrogen is a potent greenhouse gas, contributing around 16% of overall food-related global warming. Surplus nitrogen also pollutes soil and water and can cause harm to human health. So how can we get the balance right? Join TABLE for a panel discussion about the challenges and solutions at the global and local levels.

Speakers: Wim de Vries (WUR), Rasmus Einarsson (SLU), & Pauline Chivenge (IRRI)
