EU Climate Policy for Beginners

seminars, workshops |

The EU's long-term climate target, stipulated in the Union's Climate Law, is to reach “climate-neutrality” by 2050. Magnus Nilsson has been following EU Climate policy for 15 years and will share his insights.

EU´s long-term climate target, enshrined 2021 in the Union´s Climate Law, is to reach “climate-neutrality” by 2050. As stepping stone to reach this, interim goals for 2030 and 2040, of net emission reductions of 55 and 90 percent relative to 1990, have been adopted.

In order to transform those targets into concrete actions and results, a comprehensive, new legislative framework has been put in place, setting requirements on companies, member states and households to contribute to achieving the targets, now starting to transform the European economy, its industry, the transport system – virtually the entire society.

For more than 15 years, Magnus Nilsson, has been following, analysing, writing, giving lectures etc on this development. He will briefly explain for us the basic thinking behind this new policy, the legislative structure, how it affects industry and households and what next steps we should expect.

This seminar is in English. Zoom-link will be provided.
