SEMINAR IN ENGLISH. Karin Beland Lindahl from the Luleå University of Technology gives a guest lecture at SLU in Umeå.
In 2017, Beland Lindahl et al. published the article “The Swedish Forestry Model: More of everything” as part of the Future Forests program. The article examines how pressing sustainability challenges were addressed through goals, implementation procedures, outcomes, and the pathways to sustainability that emerged.
Now it is time to revisit the Swedish forestry model and the claim that it is defined by an inherent “more of everything” approach. Drawing on a new longitudinal analysis of Swedish forest policy (1990–2020), Karin Beland Lindahl explores how forest governance is evolving today. Are we witnessing a shift from “more of everything” to “more production”?
