About personal data processing in the SLU Career Connect portal
Learn more about how your personal data is processed when you register and log in with the Career Connect portal.
Please read the text carefully before registering for an account.
When SLU uses services provided by an external supplier, we enter into an agreement that guarantees that your personal data will be processed in accordance with the relevant legislation and regulations. In this instance, JobTeaser is our external partner.
The agreement between SLU and JobTeaser stipulates a mutual responsibility for the way your personal data is processed in Career Connect. If you have any questions, you are welcome to contact the Division of Educational Affairs via slukarriar@slu.se or the SLU data protection officer via dataskydd@slu.se.
Career Connect enables SLU to provide career guidance to current students and recent graduates. The portal is a channel for contacting employers advertising opportunities tailored to SLU students. These opportunities include job vacancies, open placements and degree project proposals from organisations and public authorities. International career openings are also advertised in the portal together with regional and national opportunities.
Career Connect offers career guidance modules and includes tools and exercises that can help you develop your career-planning skills.
For you to be able to use Career Connect and its various functions, we need to process your personal data. SLU has transferred details about your student account, name and email address to JobTeaser. The legal basis for transferring your personal data is referred to as public interest.
When you log in for the first time, you can volunteer additional information about yourself and upload documents. The legal basis for processing this data is referred to as consent. Examples of voluntary information include details about your studies, year of graduation, experience, CV and the type of job, placement or degree project proposal you are looking for.
When you log in for the first time, you will also be provided with the JobTeaser terms of use and privacy policy. Read this information and click the box if you agree to the terms of use.
The principle of public access to information
As a public authority, SLU must apply the principle of public access to its official documents. This means that all official documents – including personal data – that are not considered work-related material are public and can be released to anyone who requests them. If a document contains data that is subject to confidentiality, it will not be released.
Storing and sharing personal data and closing your account
Your personal data will be stored until you decide to close your account, or for a maximum of two years since you last logged in to Career Connect. You can delete your account at any time by going to your account settings and selecting ‘Delete my account’.
Once you delete your account, your personal data will be anonymised. This cannot be reversed.
JobTeaser must save your IP addresses for one year. Your personal data will also be stored for as long as required by the Public Access to Information Act and the regulations on public authority archives.
By accepting the user terms, you consent to the authorised SLU Career Connect administrators accessing your data.
The details and documents you add to the portal may also be shared with companies, organisations and public authorities if you apply for a job or placement with them or register for their careers events. They will also be shared if you select the ‘Open for opportunities’ function.
The data stored on the platform will be stored in the EU. If your data is transferred to a non-EU country, JobTeaser will implement the necessary safeguards for protecting your personal information.
