Here you will find information about the application process. Even if you are already studying on a programme you need to apply for the courses for the following semester.

Application

You apply for courses and study programmes through University Admissions in Sweden, the online application system for most courses and programmes offered at Swedish universities.
It is important that you apply in time. The deadline for applications that applies to you is dependent on which courses or study programmes you want to apply for; find out more at important dates.

If you already are a student at SLU, you apply for the next programme courses via University Admissions and Log in with university account. Some programme courses are not published unless you are logged in on your account.

Procedure for late applications

Late applications can be submitted once the admission results have been published, i.e. mid-July for the autumn semester and mid-December for the spring semester. SLU strongly encourage all international students to apply in this first admission round, because non-EU/EEA students who require a residence permit won't have time to apply for and receive one.

This applies even if you are admitted to a programme and will only be taking programme courses.
Remember that your application is not complete until you have submitted all necessary documentation to the University Admissions account. Find out more about entry requirements.

If you have been admitted to a programme and have accepted your place, you can find more information about when the initial course starts, the timetable and the reading list on the course web pages.

If you are already studying on a programme

You need to apply for the courses for the following semester, even if you do not actually have any options. This is to confirm that you intend to continue your studies and so that we can check whether you meet the entry requirements for the future courses. You need to follow the timeline for the second admission round dates, both regarding application dates and reply to you offer.

If you are a student at SLU, you can go to the tab Log in at University Admissions and select the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences under the heading Log in with university account, then follow the instructions.

Reply to your notification of selection results (second admission round)

If you have been admitted on a course or study programme or have been placed on a waiting list, you must accept your place in order to keep it in the second admission round. The last date to reply to your offer is stated in your notification of selection results, in the second admission round.

Application and tuition fees

Prior to the autumn semester 2011, application and tuition fees were introduced at basic and advanced level for applicants who are not citizens of the EU, EEA countries or Switzerland. As a Swedish citizen, you do not need to pay either application or tuition fees. Fee-paying students are required to pay the tuition fee before they can begin their studies. Find out more at University Admissions.se
If you are a citizen from outside EU/EEA/Switzerland, there are some exemptions.
