Staff Exchange for study and career guidance

Last changed: 11 November 2025

SLU is hosting the annual Euroleague for Life Sciences (ELLS) conference, which consists of the General Assembly and Forum and the Scientific Student Conference. In conjunction with this, a Staff Exchange programme for supporting staff in the area of study and career guidance is organised to bring together colleagues from ELLS member universities. Take the opportunity to visit SLU and meet with other ELLS members.

Programme

The Staff Exchange Meetings aim to provide a platform for professional dialogue, knowledge exchange, and the development of collaborative practices in the fields of academic advising and career development. We hope these meetings will contribute to strengthening support structures for students across the ELLS network and beyond.

We invite colleagues within the study and career guidance field, such as study counsellors, study advisors, career coaches and programme coordinators/advisers.

Green Guidance – Career guidance for a sustainable future by Ingrid Bårdsdatter Bakke

The green shift is happening, but how it affects the labour market of the future is not at all clear. In addition, the attention is shifting: “Yesterday we were talking about sustainability, and today everyone is all about AI”, sighed a counsellor in the Green Guidance project. “How can we deal with green professions falling out of favour with young people?” asked another.

This keynote is based on work from the ERASMUS-funded Green Guidance project. It not only aims to put green issues back on the agenda, but also to prepare students and workers for the labour market changes that come with the sustainability agenda. You will also learn about the thinking behind the project, as well as the process of exploring greener guidance together with practitioners.

Keynote speaker Ingrid Bårdsdatter Bakke is a researcher and associated professor from INN, University of Inland Norway.

16:00 From campus to career: The power of alumni engagement - Strengthening academic and professional pathways through alumni collaboration.

This workshop lifts the role of alumni engagement in bridging the transition from higher education to professional life. Karin Bennmarker, alumni coordinator at SLU, will guide us through this workshop.
