The SLU University Library in collaboration with Library Uppsala invites you to a conversation between author Maja Lunde and Peter Alestig, climate editor at Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter. Lunde is known for her novels with a focus on climate change. The conversation is in English.

Maja Lunde is one of Norway’s most read authors, and her debut novel “The History of Bees” from 2016 has been translated into 38 languages. Her recently published book “Przewalski’s Horse” is about the world’s last true wild horses.

A common theme for Lunde’s novels is the impact of climate change, and she asks questions like for example: What would the world look like without bees? What happens when the water runs out? How has man affected other species on Earth? What does it take for humanity to survive? This theme was also addressed in Lunde’s book “The End of the Ocean” published in 2017, which was the starting point for the SLU University Library’s book circle with climate focus during the spring 2021.

In a digital conversation with Peter Alestig, climate editor at Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter, we get the opportunity to meet Maja Lunde and learn more about her authorship and climate literature. The event is a collaboration between the SLU University Library and Library Uppsala.
