Summary
The mixed-use city can be perceived as the current planning ideal within Swedish city development. The ideal is often presented as a utopian concept, where its connection to social sustainability is seen as one of the benefits. However, this study has shown that there are strong connections between the structure of the mixed-use city and social processes such as gentrification and segregation.
