Summary: How the dairy as a key sector can contribute to reduce poverty and improve the livelihood by getting more knowledge regarding how dairy farmers operate and do business. The current production is the current production has a high seasonal variation as well as dairy being the only income for some farmers in parts of the year, with 80% of the milk coming from small holder farmers usually in rural areas and from poor condition. This is where better policy can have greats effects in reducing poverty. The data is first hand data from interviews from 454 different farmer.
