A look into stem rust resistance breeding

Summary

This project aimed to explore the reality of the field of plant breeding through the lens of stem rust resistance breeding, and elaborate on what challenges and obstacles hinder the advancement of the technology as well as the possibilities it poses for agriculture in the future. The purpose however, was to spread awareness and knowledge about the subject of plant breeding and the spread of high-threat races of stem rust to combat some of the largest challenges these two fields are facing today. It was performed under the supervision and co-supervision of Mahbubjon Rahmatov and Mahboobeh Yazdani respectively, of the department of plant breeding at SLU, and in the form of a purely literary study on the subject.
