Information from the course leader

Welcome to the course

Independent Project in Landscape Architecture, A2E – Landscape Architecture for Sustainable Urbanisation – Master's Programme!

The thesis project is an opportunity for students to pursue a research project which they have developed independently within the thematic umbrella of LASU programme.

To be admitted to the course, you need 30 credits at advanced level in the subject landscape architecture (LK) and approved independent project at the bachelor level. In order to do an in-depth study of this nature, the chosen subject must be a continuation on previous knowledge you have acquired in the programme. You must therefore have at least 15 credits at master level in a subject that is relevant to the study (preferably more). This means that everyone on the course is accepted with conditions and that we as course leaders assess whether the requirement for an in-depth study of the subject is met.

The work can be a project or a more theoretical work. It must be in the subject fields: planning, design or management. In order to make the best use of the course and for the work to be completed within given time frames, you are asked to have a clear idea of what your study will be about before the course starts. To help you, there will soon be a list of subjects on relevant topics that you can choose from. It will be sent out to everyone who has been accepted to the course.

Your independent work will be supported by guiding meetings and working seminar. The library is also available for your support, and they will also provide a workshop on working correctly with references and language.

The course includes a half way seminar where you present your work and get opposition that will guide you for the submission to the examination. The examination procedure will be further explained in the course guide.

The course schedule will be available four weeks before the course starts here on the course page. Grading criteria and course guide will be available at the start of the course.
